As an official supplier, avstrategies will deliver audiovisual staging management services, technical design, and production, along with full service equipment rental and live event execution throughout the province of British Columbia.
We have recently been awarded the contract to deliver comprehensive audiovisual services for the plenary sessions and gala at the International Women’s Forum Leadership Conference taking place in Vancouver October 16-18th. IWF Leadership Conferences are conducted annually and draw women from more than 50 countries that are the world’s leading architects, advocates, catalysts, and pioneers of change. Dave Oliver has relocated to Prince George to oversee our new Northern BC satellite operation. The Prince George office is an important step in our provincial strategy and will provide local and immediate service to clients with AV staging needs in Northern BC.
As one of our most senior production managers, Dave will still be seen in person on our larger projects. From the Prince George office Dave will continue to manage equipment allocation and oversee technical logistics for all our national event activations.
We have recently purchased 90” Sharp LED screens to add to our full inventory of Sharp Flat Screen Monitors.
These screens are perfect when projection is not feasible and you want a stunning screen that will capture people’s attention. These screens are so big, bright, and clear that it is hard not to stare at them. The actual screen dimensions are 81” x 47 ¾” and support full 1920×1080 resolution.
Matt Cormack joined the avs team effective July 1st.
We are excited to have Matt as our newest team member in the Vancouver office. Matt is a familiar face as he has worked with us as a freelance technician for a number of years and has been an integral part of the production crew as AVS. Matt is a well-rounded AV technician with a background in multi-camera video broadcast appplications. He has worked as both a camera operator and switcher, in addition to being an excellent director.

Recently we added the Grand MA2 onPC Command Wing to our inventory. The command wing paves the way for mobile use of our recently purchased Grand MA2 control system. In combination with the grandMA2 onPC software, the MA onPC command wing is a portable 2,048 parameter control solution that can be used in nearly any location It has two built-in DMX ports as well as the possibility to send two additional DMX universes via Ethernet.

avs will reach a significant milestone in our national expansion on June 1st with the opening of our Calgary office. Until now we have served our National and Alberta based customers from our Vancouver and Toronto offices. The addition of the new Calgary office enables us to serve Edmonton and Calgary as well as Banff, Lake Louise, and Kananaskis from our central location in Calgary. We have worked extensively in all of these locations so we are intimately familiar with venues throughout Alberta. Our gallery features photos from shows that we have executed at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, and the resorts in Kananaskis.
Chris (Monty) Montgomery will be heading up our Calgary branch. Monty has been a part of the extended avs team for a number of years as a freelance audio technician and we are pleased to have him join our team as the new branch manager.

Chris (Monty) Montgomery is joining the avs team effective February 15th. Monty will spend his first few months in the Vancouver office as he learns the day-to-day activities, systems, and procedures of avs. He will then head to Calgary to open our new office serving our customers in Alberta. Monty brings strong skills as an audio tech and well-rounded experience in all aspects of audio-visual staging. The Calgary branch is an important part of our national expansion and we look forward to providing more news in the coming months.
We are very proud to unveil avstrategies completely revamped website. As our company has seen significant growth over the past two years our website has lagged behind. Just in the last 18 months we have moved from our office on West 8th to our new 15,000 square foot warehouse at 1295 Napier in Vancouver, we have opened our new office in Toronto serving our clients in the GTA and Ottawa areas, and we are in the planning stage of our next expansion into Alberta with an office in Calgary. We have also invested heavily in our inventory and added an entire lighting department. These investments position us to provide full end-to-end service in a one-stop supplier with national coverage.
Our new website is now reflective of our current organization and provides visitors with insight into our in-house inventory of projections & displays, video equipment, lighting, audio and our drape & accessories. It also demonstrates some of the value added service we provide by creating custom CAD room drawings, renders, production management, and multimedia creation. One of the most exciting aspects of our site is the ability for clients to easily upload and download show content in a user friendly secure environment. Ask one of our associates to provide you with your personal login and we will set you up with your unique client folder.
